Welcome to my website at Penni’s Early Development Strategies! I’m Penni Romero, M.S., PT. I have been a Physical Therapist for 38 years and worked in Pediatrics exclusively for 37 years. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago in 1982. I relocated to Colorado, then Nebraska and received a Master's degree in Human Development and the Family, Child Development emphasis from UNL in 1988. This combination of higher education degrees is fairly rare but well suited for a career of working with young children. In the past 38 years I’ve worked in both medically related and school-based settings. I have worked in Early Intervention ages 0 - 3 and with preschoolers for most of my career.
In the last several years I have noticed how families of young children are eager to discuss their child’s development with professionals to gain more information. Pediatricians may focus mostly on health and major milestones at well baby visits. After recently retiring from the public schools in Nebraska, I decided to start my own business to directly address the questions and concerns of parents so they can gain information and comfort about their child's specific development needs.
Penni’s Early Development Strategies is for any family who has young children under age 5. Information and strategies provided to families is general information based on general infant, toddler, and preschool development across multiple domains of cognition, language, gross and fine motor, and self-help skills. Parents of children who appear to have significant delays will be referred to appropriate services available in their community for additional support.
Consultations are provided online through video conferencing apps like Facetime, Google Duo, Skype, etc. Session lengths vary by child's age and parental request with 30 minutes as the minimum session length. See the Services page for more detailed information.
